Shillong Lajong Football Club is an Indian professional football club based in Shillong, Meghalaya. Founded in 1983, the club has been a pioneering force in developing football talent in Northeast India.

The club competes in the I-League, India's top professional football league. Our home ground is the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong, which has a capacity of 30,000 spectators. The name "Lajong" means "our own" in the local Khasi language, reflecting our deep connection with the community.

Over the years, Shillong Lajong FC has established itself as a nursery for young talent, with numerous players progressing from our youth academy to the first team and even to the Indian national team. Our philosophy emphasizes technical development, tactical awareness, and character building.

Developing the next generation of football talent from Northeast India since 2007.

Youth Development

Our academy focuses on players aged 8-18, providing professional coaching, education, and character development. We have produced over 30 professional footballers who have played in the I-League and ISL.

AIFF Accredited

The Lajong Academy is accredited by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and follows their youth development curriculum. Our coaches are AIFF certified and regularly attend coaching development programs.

Residential Program

We offer a residential program for talented players from across Northeast India, providing accommodation, meals, education, and comprehensive football training at our state-of-the-art facility in Shillong.

Academy Trials 2023

We are holding open trials for our youth academy for the 2023-24 season. Talented players aged 8-18 from across Northeast India are invited to showcase their skills.
